The Ipswich Women's Centre Against Domestic Violence is a not-for-profit non-government organisation which provides a range of services to the Ipswich community and surrounding areas. This includes offering specialised professional training to workers in a range of different fields. The content, length of time and cost of our training packages can be tailored to suit the particular needs of your organisation or work group.

Some of our basic modules include:
  • What is Domestic & Family Violence;
  • Forms of Abuse;
  • The Cycle of Violence;
  • The causes of violence in interpersonal relationships;
  • Concepts of Power & Control and how they relate to Domestic & Family Violence;
  • Myths and Realities of Domestic & Family Violence;
  • Interactive exploration of values and beliefs relating to Domestic & Family Violence;
  • Effects of Abuse on Women, Children and Young People.

Additional modules include:
  • Recognising Domestic & Family Violence;
  • Responding to Domestic & Family Violence;
  • Risk Assessment and Safety Planning;
  • Applying for Domestic Violence Protection Orders;
  • Domestic Violence Legislation in Qld;
  • Self-Care for Workers;
  • Identifying the Predominant Aggressor;
  • Critical analysis of the socio-cultural factors contributing to Domestic & Family Violence;
  • Working with Women as victims of Domestic & Family Violence;
  • Working with Children and Young People who have experienced Domestic & Family Violence;
  • Participating in creating social and systemic change.
  • Assisting with Domestic Violence Protection Order Applications.

The IWCADV charges affordable rates for the training that we offer. As the fees do not cover the costs to our service of providing such high quality training donations over the fees charged are very welcome and are tax-deductible. For a quote please contact us.
